Coming off a season full of personal bests, postseason qualifiers, and a growing team, the DC indoor track program is heading into the 2025-26 season with optimism, motivation and plenty of goals. Under Head Coach George “Doc” McFarland and Assistant Coach Lloyd Hill, the squad hopes to build on last year’s momentum and compete strongly in every meet. Despite being small, last year’s team proved that size doesn’t determine success. Many athletes improved their times, and a few performers even qualified for impressive postseason competition: seniors Marielle Clayton, Makiyah Keys and CJ Simbiri made the cut for the Meet of Champions at Lehigh, and CJ even advanced to the prestigious Nike Indoor Nationals. These achievements helped build confidence and set the tone for what can be achieved. However, the 2025-26 season also has its own set of challenges. With a former assistant coach departing, McFarland and Hill are recalibrating what they have. Still, returning members, coupled with

After a strong 26-4 season last year, the Delaware County Christian School boys basketball team is primed and ready to build off that success. Last season, the Knights not only won a district championship but also made a competitive run in the state bracket, proving they can compete with Pennsylvania’s best AA teams. While the graduation of 1,000-point scorers Khamai Orange and Beau Lyren leaves big shoes to fill, confidence remains high as new contributors step into larger roles. “Even though we lost two 1,000-point scorers, we have more contributors stepping up, and our ball movement is great,” senior forward Laverne Sombola noted. “Even though we lost some pieces, we will still be good because we will be a more cohesive unit who knows each other well. All of us can pass, dribble, and shoot.”Furthermore, Head Coach Reggie Parks believes the team’s identity will once again be built on intensity and effort. “We are a hard-nosed, attacking styled defensive team who will push pace o

The 2024-25 DC girls basketball team fashioned a very impressive season last year with a 25-5 overall record: 9-1 in the BAL regular season, 10-2 in non-league games, 3-0 in the BAL postseason tournament, and 3-2 in the PIAA district and state playoffs.Understandably, the girls are still enthralled by last season’s success. “The highlight of last year was celebrating together,” recalled junior forward Anna Latchford. “Each win felt like the world to us because of the dedication and hard work that went into the game to earn our wins.”In addition, the season is off to a great start as the girls have surged to a 4-0 start, heading into the DC Invitational Tournament. “This group has a real chance to set records this year,” Coach Jake Godino reported. “We are pursuing what major European soccer clubs call ‘The Treble.’ This refers to winning three trophies in a single year, with those trophies typically being your league championship, your country’s cup championship and the Champions Leagu

To say the boys soccer season was successful is an understatement; better stated, it was remarkable.  Not only did they post the best record in school history, going 21-4 and snapping archrival Faith Christian’s regular season win streak spanning back to 2023, but they also accomplished things that no other DC soccer team had done: capturing a District 1A championship.A major storyline of the season was junior midfielder Justin Ma, who led the team with 17 goals and 7 assists. Ma became known for his insane bicycle kick against archrival Faith Christian, snapping their regular season win streak. Reflecting on the season, Ma remarked, “This season filled me with so much joy. I loved playing with every player and we truly built incredible bonds with one another.”The connection among teammates proved true as the Knights claimed the number one seed in the District 1A playoffs with a regular season record of 15-3. Notably, they were able to capture their first District 1A title in scho

The 2025 Delaware County Christian School girls soccer team closed out its season with pride, passion, and one of the most memorable runs the program has seen in recent years. Finishing with a strong 11-7-1 overall record, the Knights showcased both talent and heart, proving they were a force in every matchup they entered. The highlight of the season came during their impressive postseason push, where the Knights advanced all the way to the District 1 semifinals against Faith Christian Academy. In a match filled with relentless energy and high-intensity moments, the Knights girls battled through regulation and two overtime halves before falling in a heartbreaking penalty shootout. Despite the tough ending, the team’s performance left a lasting mark. “As a new player on the team, the whole team was very welcoming,” shared junior Evie Gray, “and I had my best season so far with 17 goals and first team overall.”From underclassmen stepping into big roles to veterans leading with experience,

The 2025 Delaware County Christian Knights football team’s season came to an end with a regular-season blowout win against Montrose Area High School by the score of 30-6. After going 8-1 in their previous season playing 8-man football, the school decided it was time for the team to move up to an 11-man program in 2025, joining the PIAA’s 1A District I. As a year-one, 11-man program, DC football was not in the Bicentennial League, forcing the Knights to play an independent schedule, which meant any team in the area that had an open game slot for them. Some of these teams included Red Lion Christian Academy (DE), Lansdale Catholic, and Archbishop Carroll High School. Unfortunately, all of these schools compete in much higher classes than the Knights’ 1A program.Even with a difficult schedule, the Knights fought and managed to end the season with an overall record of 4-5, the exact record as Jenkintown’s football team, which competes in the same division as DC. In particular, the cross country team qualified two runners for states, not to mention the team’s multiple wins in the midst of another successful season. As always, the team was competitive in the BAL regional meets and the conference meets. As the season progressed, the team’s offseason preparation started to show as every player on the team showed improvement. Some dropped five minutes on their 5k times and were described by Coach “Doc” McFarland as a gritty group that fought through various injuries. As first-time captains, junior Adrian Gin and sophomore Addison Atkins served their roles amazingly well as they learned how to lead the team. Their leadership helped this young team of runners to improve their skills throughout the season, even holding their own against older runners. Prime examples of this trend were freshmen Rudy Georke and Mari

The DC girls tennis team closed out their 2024 season with a 7-6 overall record, including a 4-3 finish in the BAL and a 3-3 non-league mark. Beyond the numbers, this season was defined by resilience, leadership, and a deepening sense of community both on and off the court. One of the most memorable moments came in the team’s second matchup against BAL rival Calvary Christian. After losing to the Cougars earlier in the season, the Knights returned with determination. All three singles players secured crucial wins while the first doubles team of Karis Peters and Kaylee Kroll battled through split sets, falling by just two points. “It was an amazing turnaround,” remarked Coach Day Fogarty. “I could not have been prouder of every DC player that day.”Individually, senior Lily Peters delivered a standout season, placing second in the BAL Singles Tournament and earning a spot in districts. The team carried the momentum from their 12-3 regular season record all the way to winning the District I championship. Their 2–1 playoff record was led by senior captain Santo Gentile– the program’s only state qualifier this year– while the rest of the team also demonstrated excellence, consistency, and improvement throughout the season. Competing in states has always been one of Santo’s bucket-list items. “The experience was great,” he said. “I had a lot of fun being able to compete at one of the highest levels in high school golf.” Santo’s preparation, both mentally and physically, played a big role in his success. “I mentally prepared by realizing one bad shot won’t define my round and that I have practiced all year for the postseason, and I physically prepared by playing rounds and going to the range.” Balancing golf and school was Santo’s biggest c

The Delaware County Christian School football team is in the middle of a significant change this year. Though relatively small in numbers among spring sports teams, DC boys tennis has no small reputation. Last year, the team went undefeated in the BAL, winning a tight match against Holy Ghost Preparatory School in the district semifinals. Only after it had advanced to the finals was the team defeated by Lower Moreland, concluding the season at an impressive 12-4 record. This year, boys tennis has once again gone undefeated thus far, with a current record of 9-0. Recently, the team won 3-0 against Bishop Shanahan High School, which was expected to be one of the team’s greatest opponents. Unsurprisingly, the team has set its sights on winning the district finals and advancing to states. As many may be wondering, just what exactly is the key to this small team’s success? The answer lies in several areas; one is coaching. This band of boys has been blessed with three enthusiastic coaches, all of whom are fathers of current DC tennis players: Mr. Jim Pitofsky, Mr. Wayne Ho, and Mr.
