Dear DC Upper School Families,
 

In preparation for the fall 2024 season, please be advised of the following information. 
 

Fall Preseason Dates for Practices/Tryouts

• Preseason for Varsity and JV Boys/Girls Golf will begin on Monday, August 5.
• Preseason for Varsity Boys/Girls Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Boys Soccer (including JV), Girls Soccer (including JV), and Girls Tennis will begin on Monday, August 12.
• Preseason for Varsity Cheerleading (fall) will begin on Monday, August 19.

Review preseason practice/tryout times and contests on our athletics website. *The golf and cheerleading practice schedules will be posted soon. All coaches will communicate preseason activities with you in greater detail soon. 

Summer Workouts 

DC Athletics offers various open team and performance training workouts for DC-enrolled students during the summer months.  All students interested in participating in open team workouts and performance training workouts, prior to the start of preseason, must submit a Summer Medical and Release Form to the Athletic Office. Please email the form to Kevin Wallace and Teelah Grimes.

• Open/Offseason Performance Training (in Sports Performance Center)
  • Monday - Friday: 9:00-10:00 am
  • Monday - Thursday: 10:00-11:00 am
  • Monday - Thursday: 3:00-4:00 pm
  • Monday - Wednesday: 4:00-5:00 pm
  • Thursday: 4:00 - 4:30 pm and 4:30 - 5:30 pm 
• Open Team Workouts (e.g., open fields)
  • Please contact the coach of the respective sport. 

PIAA Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (CIPPE) Form
All student-athletes must have an approved physical on file before they will be permitted to play. The PIAA forms can be found HERE. Sections 1-6 are required for all student-athletes and are valid for the entire school year. Parents should upload the completed forms into their Magnus Health account. You can access Magnus through your Blackbaud account: choose resources and then click on the Magnus tile. PIAA physicals for the fall season are due by August 1! If your child will only participate in a winter or spring sport, see deadlines below.

BSN Team Stores
The BSN Team Stores for fall teams will open on July 1. Athletics staff will send you links to the stores in a separate email on July 1.
