Putting It All Together

The Knights’ golf team concluded a memorable 2025 season full of growth, stellar performances, and a strong postseason run. The team carried the momentum from their 12-3 regular season record all the way to winning the District I championship. Their 2–1 playoff record was led by senior captain Santo Gentile– the program’s only state qualifier this year– while the rest of the team also demonstrated excellence, consistency, and improvement throughout the season.
Competing in states has always been one of Santo’s bucket-list items. “The experience was great,” he said. “I had a lot of fun being able to compete at one of the highest levels in high school golf.” Santo’s preparation, both mentally and physically, played a big role in his success. “I mentally prepared by realizing one bad shot won’t define my round and that I have practiced all year for the postseason, and I physically prepared by playing rounds and going to the range.”
Balancing golf and school was Santo’s biggest challenge. “Golf required me to miss multiple days; I overcame it by meeting with teachers to make up work.” Looking back, Santo shared, “This season meant a lot to me to end my last year of golf winning districts as a team and individual because I wasn’t able to compete last year.”
Senior Billy Sterious also reflected on the team’s determination and chemistry. “I feel like we achieved our goal at the beginning of the season to win districts. We felt like we were able to capture our first district title due to all of the talent we had on our team.” The senior golfer noted a pivotal moment that came during districts: “It was a longer round of 18 holes, and the team put their head down and played their best golf to complete our goal.” Billy hopes he has left a lasting impression on DC’s golf squad: “I hope I impacted the program through the way I carry myself on the course. I hope others see the importance of maintaining their composure on the course.”
Junior Everett Luft added, “I would call this a rollercoaster of a season because I started off playing really well and fluctuated a lot during the season.” He also highlighted the team culture: “The seniors on the team were really great guys, and it was awesome to joke around and have fun with them all year.”
From the beginning of the season, Coach Wallace set the tone for what he hoped to see from the team, emphasizing growth and culture. “I was excited about building a strong team culture that emphasizes support, accountability, and a love for the game,” he said. “What’s surprised me most is how much the players support each other — the camaraderie and encouragement, even in a competitive setting, has been really special to witness.”
Looking back, it’s clear that Wallace’s vision for his squad played out perfectly. The team not only captured the District I title but also showed excellence and consistency all season long. Indeed, strong leadership and a tightly-knit group led the 2025 Knights golf team to a district title and another historic season.
On Par For Success

As the DC golf team heads into full swing, the roster features many returning veterans, alongside a variety of fresh faces who hope to make an impact. Coming off an impressive 2024 campaign with 11 wins and only 3 losses, the team aims to continue their success, keeping their momentum and confidence from last season.
Heading the team this year is first-year golf coach Kevin Wallace, who is embracing this new position with enthusiasm. As Wallace elaborates, “What excited me most was the opportunity to invest in student-athletes through a sport that I’ve always loved.” Coach Wallace has focused on the mental side of golf, helping players develop their composure and resilience: “The most rewarding part has been watching players gain confidence–seeing someone post a personal best, overcome a mental hurdle, or take on a leadership role they didn't think they were ready for.” Wallace is also emphasizing the team aspect of golf noting how he “wants players to feel like they’re playing with each other, not just alongside each other.”
Participating in, and ultimately winning, the BAL district championship are the goals for the team as a whole. As junior captain Everett Luft shares, “My goal for the golf team this year is to win districts and make it to the state tournament.” Everett emphasizes the “large younger core” with the addition of many freshmen and newcomers on the team; moreover, he hopes to “help guide and lead younger players this season.”
Sophomore captain Andrew Dell’Arciprete brings experience and leadership as well. Reflecting on his development and maturity as a golfer, Andrew states, “I feel like more of a leader this year because of how much I’ve grown in golf, and I will help my younger teammates with their technique in swinging.” Last season, as a freshmen, Andrew was the only Knights golfer to compete individually in the district championship, and he is determined to meet and surpass that mark in his second season.
The Knights’ preparation and practice has already payed off as they have a record of 7-1 this season. Beginning the season with a narrow loss against Perkiomen Valley, the DC Knights have quickly rebounded and currently maintain a seven-game win streak.
Led by a strong group of captains–consisting of seniors Alex Sterious and Santo Gentile, junior Everett Luft, and sophomore Andrew Dell’Arciprete–as well as a new coach offering a fresh perspective, the Knights are setting themselves up for a promising, successful season.
